Will It Really Make A Difference?

In probably the most conservative district of the country, upstart Jason Chaffetz had never before run for political office when he decided to take on party establishment and face off incumbent Cannon (an alleged conservative) in the US Congressional election for Utah’s 3rd District. With very little money, but backed by a a force of 1,000 volunteers, Jason ran his campaign in the black, with integrity, and with a promise to his constituents to uphold the US Constitution, curtail government spending and “…represent Utah to Washington, not Washington to Utah.”

During the campaign, the Independence Caucus conducted research which found a direct link between Jason’s Republican opponent and the big money special interest groups who heavily financed his campaign with out of state dollars. In spite of being outspent 6 to 1, lacking the endorsements his six term incumbent opponent had of the sitting President, and both Senators from his state and all three major newspapers in his district, having no paid campaign staff–only volunteers, Jason beat the incumbent in an unprecedented landslide victory, capturing 60% of the vote.

Jason’s victory is a victory for all of us all around this nation. Using the very same techniques which got Jason elected into office, the Independence Caucus is showing volunteers in Congressional Districts all across the country how they did it so we can unseat a minimum of 40% of the incumbents who are up for reelection in 2010. Join with us TODAY to take this country back from the big money special interests and hand it to it’s rightful owners, We The People!
